The widget is designed to make switching status easy. All you have to do is pull down the menu and press a button. But, it also does something else for you!
If you have killed MyRideTrac, the widget will restart the app for you. Simply pull down the widget menu and press a button. 
Apple users will see a “Start MyRideTrac” button. Android users will just need to press a button and MyRideTrac will automatically start.
We did this because many folks didn’t want to remember to start the app. By the way, you don’t need to kill the app. It is very happy to stay running in the background.
